I went to a play with my roommate today. The person he was supposed to go with cancelled on him at the last minute. The play was called "My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewisn, & I'm in Therapy." Sounded interesting, especially the therapy part.
We sat down and looked around us. He quickly realized that he was the only black person there. He spotted one other Asian person. Most of the audience was probably Italian, Jewish, in therapy, or a combination of these factors.
The play was really more like a stand-up comedy show. The main character basically talked about his own life, probably mostly true stories with some spice added here and there. It was kind of like watching Seinfeld. Very entertaining.

sounds fun. always wanted to see a stand-up comedy show. no one to go with though. :( and it's not like the movies. for the movies, you might feel odd going by yourself.. but as long as it's a good movie, it's fine. but i have this fear that if you go to a stand-up alone, you might be the stand-up's new material. o_O
